Description
It is no longer necessary to establish the importance of research in fields of industry, government, etc to achieve the aims of improvement and professionalism. However, with the development of new techniques of research, it has become a challenge to identify the most appropriate methods for certain topics of study. In practice, quite often a mixture of various methods is used (Anderson, 2004). However, in order to better understand their working, it is important to isolate the methods just as in any branch of science. Therefore, in the following sections we will examine the nature and benefits of qualitative and quantitative methods of research on the topic of work attitudes of lesbian, gay and bisexual people. A comparative review of both the techniques will help build on further research (Creswell, 2003).
