Description
Substance abuse or drug abuse is the term which is used to define the unconventional approach towards the consumption of a substance or drug which is not considered dependent. This is the term having a vast impact and ranging as far as definition is concerned and is directly related to taking the drug meant for psychoactive disorders, performance enhancement for medical or nonmedical uses. There are certain drugs which have the abuse potential when taken for the long term. Methylphenidate - The drug comes under the category of psycho stimulants and is recommended for the treatment of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, and narcolepsy.
