- This report is based on the following requirement -
- Much of the research on leadership set for this course and referenced in your text is based on “for profit” enterprises. Your report will discuss the relevance or applicability of leadership theories from your text to NGOs or Non-Government Organisations. These also sometimes known as Not for Profits.
- Introduction to the NGO such as Red Cross or Unicef or any other well-known NGO that you have sufficient information.
- Explain the key features of the NGO such as
- Vision/Mission
- Size, structure or organisational chart
- Strategies
- Activities of that NGO such child support, blood donations
- How long has the organisation been in existence
- Number of employees, is it a national or international
- What are their key success factors
- Leaders and their role and how many CEOs since the organisations has formed and how did leadership style impact on growth of the organisations
- Analyse the leadership practice in the chosen NGO
- What strategic change took place since the interception such as mergers, acquisitions or diversification
- Use transformational leadership and strategic leadership style to explain these questions
- Why do you think they are appropriate
- Their relevance to the NGOs you have chosen
- Their strengths and weaknesses
- How do you critique their strengths and weaknesses use referred journals to support.
- Compare and contrast leadership practices between NGO and “for profit” business enterprises
Description
The paper discusses the activities, leadership and strategies of one of the non-profit organizations, American Red Cross. The paper then discusses and critically evaluates the transformational and strategic leadership styles and also discusses its relevance to the NGOs. In the end the paper compares leadership practices in non-profit and “for-profit” organizations.
