Description
Emergency department staff operate in a complex environment as it involves considering different information and making faster decisions to ensure that the patient is safe and out of danger (Strauss & Mayer, 2013). Emergency department involves increased interruptions, multiple interactions and high density of decision-making and the volume and pace of work cannot be predicted easily (Seow, 2013). This report discusses ten indicators of emergency department in a hospital and discuss the rationale of the indicator and discuss the approaches to data collection and defines the target/goal of the indicator.
