Question:
Carry out a review of the existing process to understand the current process and obtain insights into potential issues/problems with it. As part of your review, you should:
Carry out a process analysis using appropriate tools and techniques;
Determine the current default operations strategy with respect to process type and organisation and control structure;
Assess the overall capacity of the process and identify any potential bottlenecks and delay points;
Assess the current customer issues when they interact with the clinic.
Based on your analysis and discussion of the current process, make recommendations to the management of the clinic addressing any changes you believe they should make to improve the efficiency of the process and provide a better customer experience when it comes to visiting the clinic.
Assume it was decided to establish the Paediatric Orthopaedic Clinic as a separate stand-alone unit. One that would include all the existing functions in the clinic, but also dedicated radiology resources, all in the same area and as part of an independent organisational unit.
Make recommendations with respect to the organisational structure you believe should be adopted and the layout of the various “workstations”.
