This report is based on the following requirement - - Leadership occurs in context and is increasingly complex due to globalisation and a myriad of ethical considerations. The successful leader is able to synthesise varied knowledge, draw conclusions, and exercise judgement appropriate for a particular context or situation. To facilitate this synthesis and provide you with an opportunity to demonstrate the skills you will need to complete your dissertation, the focus of the Module Project will be the critical analysis of a business case. Specifically, you will critically assess how ethics, gender, and the leadership theories you explore in this module impact the following business case, which is linked on the Week 1 Learning Resources page.

- In a world of so many leadership approaches and theories, how does one identify and implement the best leadership approach for her or his particular leadership situation and context? How does gender impact the way leaders are perceived, particularly in a high-stakes situation? How does a leader determine an ethical course of action?
- In this project, you will consider these questions and provide answers based on the theories, approaches, and other information you acquire throughout the module as well as your own research. You will complete this project in two submissions. The first submission is due by Wednesday of Week 4 and the final submission is due by Wednesday of Week 7.
- For the first submission in Week 4, submit approximately 1,000 words in which you:
- Identify the key issues in the case
- Research related literature
- Summarise and demonstrate understanding of related literature
- o Discuss three leadership theories or approaches that would be appropriate in this particular business case and why.
- o Summarise current research on the leadership theories or approaches you selected.
- What are the current theories and models of each approach? What aspects of each approach need further research in
- general?
- o Does either theory or approach compensate for the weaknesses of
- some of the theories you explored in this module and why?
