Description

Humans are constantly involved in making things and it was an essential activity in ancient times. The same activity is now called as manufacturing. Due to growth in technology and for economic reasons manufacturing is very important for the welfare of any nation. Technology is the application of science which helps in developing the things which we desire. Manufacturing is the important factor which makes the implementation of the technology possible. A manufacturing unit involves a set of processes and systems designed to convert set of limited range of materials to finished products of increased value. The manufacturing capability makes lot of difference, factors such as technical and physical limitations and production capability (Fsc, 2010). The trends used in manufacturing units these days are lean production, globalization, manufacturing process which is environment friendly and microfabrication and nanotechnology. This report discusses the management of work system of the manufacturing company. The report also discusses how work systems can be managed to have higher productivity with lower cost and increased efficiency.
