Description
This report is based on the following requirement –
In their discussion of “Lean”, Slack et al (2007), say that, “Its principles, which once were a radical departure from traditional operations practice, have now themselves become orthodox”. However, in the attached paper, Schonberger (2011) describes Lean as “Still an immature adolescent”.
Your task is to carry out a literature review and hence write a researched based paper which;
I. Fully describes the nature of Lean practices.
II. Identifies and examines the main ways in which Lean is considered to be “a radical departure from traditional operations practice”.
III. Critically examines Schonberger’s paper and the extent to which you consider his conclusions challenge the contention of Slack et al that the principles of Lean have “become orthodox”.
