- THE TRIPARTITE ALLIANCE - WIIL IT SURVIVE THROUGH 2015/2016?
Write a detailed objective research report of what happened during last year and this year to date in the Tripartite Alliance in South Africa. Speculate what can happen (different scenarios) during the rest of 2015 and 2016 up to the Elections.
Focus in your report on the following aspects (from the viewpoint of conflict management and dispute resolution):
The events that resulted in the conflict (or not) in the Tripartite Alliance.
The role of the ANC-Government.
The role of COSATU especially the Special National Congress that was held in July this year which focused on unity and cohesion. Refer to role of Numsa and Zwelinzima Vavi in the process.
The role of the SACP regarding its relevance currently.
You can refer to the National Development Plan (NDP) as basis for your argumentation to take South Africa forward.
In your discussion, (as a professional conflict management specialist) you should identify conflict styles, analyse the conflict and communication between the various parties involved, focus on what went wrong and how to avoid conflict in future. You should also give advice regarding the current Labour Relations Act (LRA) as an instrument in conflict resolution.
