You have been asked to develop an OHS risk management system for a newly organisation in an industry you used for assessment 2. The organisation has very little in place and is struggling to understand what OHS risk management involves, and what is required.
Your task
Write a report outlining the main components of an effective OHS risk management system suitable for this organisation. The system should include a suitable framework, key steps for an effective OHS risk management, criteria and approach for applying the risk management process, documents to support the process and a worked example of an OHS risk management process for an activity or project. The example needs to include five (5) hazards associated with the activity or project.
The report should include (as a minimum) a discussion of the following:
1. Background to the company (5 marks)
2. A framework processes for effective management of OHS risks (8 marks)
3. Criteria for analysing and evaluating OHS risks (10 marks)
4. Documents to support the implementation of the OHS risk management process (12)
5. A worked example of an OHS risk management plan for a particular activity, which includes at least five hazards and/or threats (15 marks)
