- During the course you are required to plan, undertake, and report on two field trips.
These field trips will be conducted in groups of up to six students and you are
expected to work collaboratively together to:
plan what you want to learn, including which learning outcomes you want to
address, and the particulars of what you want to see/ask/discover;
determine the organisations you want to visit, and make contact both before and
after the visit; and
Review what you learned following the visit, and present to the rest of the class a
summary of your visit and findings.
Following this, individually you are required to write up both your field trips and
submit it for assessment. Each of the two write-ups should:
be approximately 1400 words in length;
specify the plan, in brief (as detailed above);
provide a summary of what was observed;
determine what was learned; and
Provide advice of at least one area of the operation which would have benefited
from improvement, and your plan for conducting an investigation and what you
would hope to achieve.
Thus the total submission is approximately 2800 words, excluding any appendices
you may wish to add.
