- This paper will answer the following questions on the case study -
1. Suggest how Prestige’s staff planning may have been conducted in the past.
2. Discuss the factors that may impact on Prestige’s staffing needs in the future. Conduct a SWOT analysis using the information that is available to you. You can add any additional information which you consider may be applicable to the furniture industry to enhance your answer. (Your discussion should at least include reference to political, economic, social and technological factors as well as
anything else you consider appropriate).
3. Based on the information that you have established from question 2 as well as
additional research, create a report for the Managing Director and managers, which demonstrates your strategic approach to HR in Prestige Manufacturing. Your report should include as a minimum:
a) Brief analysis of the business and it’s goals/strategic plan
b) The objectives/rationale of the strategic plan
c) Major internal and external risks to the organization and how these
will be managed
d) Potential change to the current environment and the ramifications
to Prestige (such as industrial laws, unions etc)
e) Your consultation processes (with relevant managers and other
stakeholders). What do they value, what are their expectations, job analysis and design information?
f) How you would identify the future labor needs and the skill requirements (numbers, what areas, induction, training, performance management etc.)?
g) Your recommendation of the strategic activities needed to ensure the right employees are in place with the desired attributes and behaviors to enable the business to reach its goals.
h) How you will measure or evaluate the extent to which your strategic HR initiatives support the organization?
i) Discuss any timeframes and review processes
j) Conclusion
NOTE: The report should be at least 4000 words. Your report can also be on an organization that you have worked with or are very familiar with but must cover the above requirements as a minimum.
