The major objective of the paper is to understand the business environment and the different strategic factors that influenced the growth and development for the company of Amazon.com since the time of its commencement in the year 1995 to 2004. The company has been facing many ups and downs in the industry, which encompasses the prompt starting and expansion of the business from the initial years, to the downturn of the business due to the bubble burst and tech-wreck in the year 2000. The company still managed to continue its development and expansion with its strategy of “customer-centrism and innovation as their key competences to win the world market.
