American author F .Scott Fitzgerald has written the novel The Great Gatsby in the year 1925. The novel is set on the 1922 Long Island summer. The novel has a cast of characters, who lives in a fictional land of West and East Egg on flourishing Long Island. The novel primarily begins with the portrayal of Jay Gatsby, who is extremely passionate and obsessed with Daisy Buchanan. The Great Gatsby explores several themes including decadence, idealism, and resistance to change. The novel also includes the social upheaval and creates an image of the typical Jazz Age or the Roaring Twenties which can also be related to the American dream.
