Organizations have to enhance its competences constantly for sustainability and profitability. Organizations can increase their competencies by developing the skills and knowledge of their employees. The effectiveness and efficiency of the employees enables organizations to achieve their desired goals and have competitive edge over others in the market. High performance organization value the employee and their skills and efforts by providing them an environment, which encourages autonomy, employee involvement and empowerment and skills and knowledge development (Waal, 2012). High Performance Working practices emphasize on enhancing employee capabilities through training and development, opportunities to make decisions and frame strategies (Thomas, 2009). Organizations with such practices are able to enhance their productivity and profitability to a great extent. Bank Dhofar is one of the leading banks in Oman and is the fastest growing financial institution, which offers range of services such as consumer banking, corporate banking, Treasury and Project finance services that are designed to meet the different needs of customers, mid-market companies and small and medium sized businesses in Oman (Bank Dhofar, 2016). The bank has 58 branches, 133 ATMs and 52 CDMs across the nation (Bank Dhofar, 2016). The bank works with the vision ‘the best bank for you’ and constantly work on providing innovative products and services to the customers of all segments (Bank Dhofar, 2016). This report discusses impact of high performance working practices on the performance of organizations. The report then discusses the high performance working practices adopted by Bank Dhofar and provides recommendations to further enhance their performance.
