Description

Banking services are diverse in nature. Retail and corporate and institutional are the two major divisions of a banking operation (Ghosh, 2012). BNP Paribas also offers financial services. Institutional services offered by BNP Paribas in almost all the countries that it is operational in. Institutional banking in one in which various products are specifically designed and offered to corporate sectorial organizations. This type of business is a high risk and high return type of business. Retail business BNP Paribas is however not present in all countries where it is operational. Retail business is a less profitable with low risks involved. Jordan offers a good retail base as it is a country defined as upper-middle class by World Bank hence lots of opportunity exists (The World Bank, 2015). The paper thus critically scrutinizes t macro and micro environmental factors that are conducive for BNP Paribas for catering markets of Jordan. The study also identifies varied issues that can be experienced by the bank along with recommendations to overcome the same.
