Assignment Brief and Guidance:
The assignment has one learning objective.
You will have to select a business organisation (company) and imagine you have been appointed a
member of the marketing team. You need to present a report to the organisation’s top management,
and based on this report certain decisions regarding marketing would be performed, e.g. budgeting
and staffing. You need to analyse and inspect its marketing functions and strategies and the kind of
business orientation followed by the selected organisation. The analysis could provide discussions
on the organisation’s business orientation whether being sales, product/s or marketing orientated.
You are free to choose a national (local) or international business (company).
As a member of a marketing team, you are expected to analyse the marketing strategies, activities
and practices followed by the selected business organisation (company), in order to provide
evidence of current marketing performance.
Your report must include, a critical analysis of the market environment in which the chosen
business organisation functions and relating this environment to the roles and responsibilities of
marketing and other functional units of an organisation.
